Sustainable Northwest and Energy Trust of Oregon are hosting the 3rd Annual Energy Resilience Planning for Local Governments Workshop. This workshop will connect city and county staff with funding, resources, and organizations to help with the planning and implementation necessary to make their community more energy-resilient and prepared for future disasters.
Date: Friday, December 6th, 2024
Time: 9:30am – 12:30pm (Virtual on Zoom)
Who should attend? Oregon city, county, and/or special district staff as well as community-based organizations that support emergency management, economic development, planning, hazard mitigation planning, sustainability, or energy conservation are encouraged to attend.
What will be covered? This workshop will share information about funding for energy resilience planning and project development, connect attendees to technical assistance providers, and identify next steps to integrate resilience planning into existing planning processes, particularly for capacity and resource-strapped communities.

- Meeting Purpose: Provide updates on COAD development and LTRG activities. Share needs, information, and resources such as templates, tools, guidance, training, and funding opportunities.
- Intended Participants: Leaders and Coordinators of LTRGs and COADs statewide. Agencies or organizations looking for networking opportunities to build their community’s capacity to respond and recover from emergencies and disasters.

Thank you for joining The Partnership for Inclusive Disaster Strategies for our weekly national stakeholder calls.Our partnership footprint reaches every congressional district in the country and virtually every community. We are also very active in global disability inclusive disaster risk reduction, humanitarian relief and whole community resilience initiatives.These calls are for the purpose of engaging a wide range of stakeholders with a shared interest in the disaster related rights and needs of people with disabilities.
The Partnership’s mission is equity for people with disabilities and people with access and functional needs throughout all planning, programs, services and procedures before, during and after disasters and emergencies.
Our primary role as the nation’s leading experts on the rights and needs of disaster impacted people with disabilities and their communities is to:
Anticipate and identify problems people with disabilities will face in disasters,
Engage stakeholders,
Share good practices,
Drive program and policy changes to proactively assure compliance with civil rights obligations,
Prevent harm during and after disasters, and
Provide tools and resources to disaster impacted people with disabilities, local disability organizations and other stakeholders in order to solve problems, increase whole community inclusion, meet accessibility requirements, improve community wide disaster resilience, and optimize outcomes for all.

Clackamas County Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (CCVOAD) coordinates a network of voluntary organizations working together to encourage efficient service delivery to people affected by immediate , intermediate, and long-term disasters in Clackamas County. CCVOAD has evolved from the Clackamas County Long Term Recovery Group (CCLTRG) to better serve the community of Clackamas County, Oregon. Our committed board of directors and partners have been diligently enhancing our preparedness, response, and recovery services for the benefit of the community. We take our pride in hearing from our community and filling the gaps of any unmet needs.

Our annual Fall Members Meeting will be hosted by Catholic Charities USA in Alexandria, Virginia! Our meeting venue address is Catholic Charities – O’Grady Conference Center, 2050 Ballenger Avenue, Alexandria 22314. The closest airport is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA). Attendees are encouraged to book their accommodations at their preferred hotel. We will not have a room block at a specific hotel.
Please plan to arrive to join us for an evening Member/Partner Reception on Monday, October 21st!
Our meeting dates are Tuesday, October 22nd for a full day & Wednesday, October 23rd for a half day. Please schedule departures after 1PM EST once the meeting concludes, if possible.
This meeting is intended for National VOAD Member (National, Associate, and State/Territory) & Partner representatives. We welcome up to two representatives per member/partner agency to attend.
